Description: Mouse IgG monoclonal antibody for ALIX/PDCD6IP detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P, FCM, ICC/IF in Human; Mouse; Rat.

Background: Programmed cell death 6-interacting protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PDCD6IP gene. This gene encodes a protein that functions within the ESCRT pathway in the abscission stage of cytokinesis, in intralumenal endosomal vesicle formation, and in enveloped virus budding. Studies using mouse cells have shown that overexpression of this protein can block apoptosis. In addition, the product of this gene binds to the product of the PDCD6 gene, a protein required for apoptosis, in a calcium-dependent manner. This gene product also binds to endophilins, proteins that regulate membrane shape during endocytosis. Overexpression of this gene product and endophilins results in cytoplasmic vacuolization, which may be partly responsible for the protection against cell death. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Product Notes

The PDCD6IP pdcd6ip (Catalog #AAA19212) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-ALIX/PDCD6IP Antibody (Monoclonal, 14D10) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ALIX/PDCD6IP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 0.1-0.5ug/ml (Human, Mouse, Rat) IHC-P (Embedded Section): 0.5-1ug/ml (Human, Mouse, Rat) byHeat ICC: 2ug/ml (Human) IF: 2ug/ml (Human) FC/FACS: 1-3ug/1x106 cells (Human) Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. By Heat: Boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH6.0, for 20mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PDCD6IP pdcd6ip for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ALIX/PDCD6IP, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
