Performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 19 kDa Observed band size: 22 kDa)

Small heat shock protein (sHSP)-B7 (HSPB7) is a muscle-specific member of the non-ATP-dependent sHSPs. Small heat shock protein HSPB7 is highly expressed in the heart. Several mutations within HSPB7 are associated with dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure in human patients. HSPB7 is an intercalated disc protein and it has an essential role in maintaining intercalated disc integrity and conduction function in the adult heart.
