HAMA accessory reagent
HAMA blocking reagent
Applications
ELISA
Synonyms
HAMA; N/A; HAMA blocking reagent; Heterophilic Immunoglobulin Blocking Reagent, Rheumatoid Factor blocking reagent, RF blocking reagent, HA blocking reagent; HAMA accessory reagent
Form/Format
Monoclonal antibody supplied at 5mg/ml in 10 mM PBS buffer, pH 7.4 with 50% glycerine and 0.1% Proclin 300. The blocking reagent binds to the interferent antibody sufficiently to block its reaction with capture antibody or conjugated antibody.
Applicable Applications for HAMA accessory reagent
ELISA
Biohazard
Non-hazardous, monoclonal antibody. Heterophilic Antibody (HA) interference in double-antibody sandwich reaction models can lead to fals results due to non specific binding to capture and detection reagents. Human Anti-Mouse Antibody (HAMA) incidence rate is around 10% in immunodiag assays.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C short term, 20 degree C long term. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for HAMA accessory reagent
Heterophilic Antibody (HA) interference in double-antibody sandwich reaction models can lead to false positive results due to non specific binding to capture and detection reagents. In particular, non specific binding of Human Anti-Mouse Antibody (HAMA) occurs in approximately 10% of immuno assays. Other types of HA include, Heterophilic Antibody Goat Antibody (HAGA), Heterophilic Antibody Sheep Antibody (HASA), and Heterophilic Antibody Rabbit Antibody (HARA). This blocking reagent binds to the interferent HAMAs blocking its reaction with capture antibody or conjugated antibody.

Product Notes
The HAMA (Catalog #AAA224680) is an Accessory Reagent and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's HAMA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HAMA for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HAMA, Accessory Reagent" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
