Principle of the Assay: Human Artemin ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for Artemin has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(Expression system for standard: E.coli, Immunogen sequence: A108-G220) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection biotinylated polyclonal antibody from goat specific for Artemin is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human Artemin amount of sample captured in plate.
Background: Artemin, also known as enovin or neublastin, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ARTN gene. This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) subfamily and TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate each subunit of the disulfide-linked homodimer. This protein signals through the RET receptor and GFR alpha 3 coreceptor, and supports the survival of a number of peripheral neuron populations and at least one population of dopaminergic CNS neurons. This protein has also been shown to promote tumor growth, metastasis, and drug resistance in mammary carcinoma.

Product Notes
The Human There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins. ARTN artn (Catalog #AAA124860) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA124860 ELISA Kit recognizes Human There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins. ARTN. AAA Biotech's Artemin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ARTN artn for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Artemin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
