Biological Significance
One of the three protein components of Anthrax toxin, protective antigen (PA) is the central moiety that mediates the entry of lethal factor and edema factor into the target cell. PA binds to the cell surface via a type I membrane protein with a von Willebrand factor A domain called anthrax toxin receptor. After proteolytic activation to a 63 kDa fragment, PA self-associates to form a heptameric cation-selective, voltage-gated membrane channel.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4°C while lyophilized. After reconstitution, aliquot and freeze at -20°C.

Product Notes
The Bacillus Anthracis (Catalog #AAA75287) is a Recombinant Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Bacillus Anthracis, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
