Principle of the Assay: The Mouse CD239 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Mouse CD239 in Cell Culture Supernates, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Mouse CD239 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CD239 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Mouse CD239 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD239 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
Background: Basal cell adhesion molecule is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BCAM gene. The BCAM gene encodes a glycoprotein expressed on cell surfaces. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of receptors and cell adhesion molecules. When expressed on erythrocytes, BCAM constitutes the Lutheran (Lu) and Auberger (Au) blood group antigens. And this protein may play a role in epithelial cell cancer and in vaso-occlusion of red blood cells in sickle cell disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Product Notes
The Mouse BCAM bcam (Catalog #AAA263102) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA263102 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse BCAM. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD239, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
