In vitro
Angiotensin II is a naturally occurring octapeptide hormone component of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and is a potent vasoconstrictor. Angiotensin II has important roles in cardiovascular, neurologic, and renal physiology, including maintenance of blood pressure, thirst sensation, response to the baroreceptor reflex, determination of renal blood flow and glomerular filtration rate, and electrolyte and free water homeostasis[2].

Related Product Information for Angiotensin I/II (TFA) biochemical
Angiotensin I/II (1-6) TFA contains the amino acids 1-6 and is converted from Angiotensin I/II peptide. The precursor angiotensinogen is cleaved by renin to form angiotensin I. Angiotensin I ishydrolyzed by angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) to form the biologically active angiotensin II. Angiotensin II has been investigated for the treatment, basic science, and test of Hypertension, Renin Angiotensin System, and Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy[1][2][3].

Product Notes

The Angiotensin I/II (TFA) (Catalog #AAA227178) is a Biochemical and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Angiotensin I/II (TFA), Biochemical" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
