Related Product Information for BMP 4 recombinant protein
Description: Bone Morphogenetic Protein-4 Human Recombinant produced in E Coli is a monomeric, non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 116 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 13kDa. The BMP-4 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein family which is part of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. The superfamily includes large families of growth and differentiation factors. Bone morphogenetic proteins were originally identified by an ability of demineralized bone extract to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo in an extraskeletal site. This particular family member plays an important role in the onset of endochondral bone formation in humans, and a reduction in expression has been associated with a variety of bone diseases, including the heritable disorder Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva. Alternative splicing in the 5' untranslated region of this gene has been described and three variants are described, all encoding an identical protein.

Product Notes

The BMP 4 bmp4 (Catalog #AAA38174) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: SPKHHSQRAR KKNKNCRRHS LYVDFSDVGW NDWIVAPPGY QAFYCHGDCP FPLADHLNST NHAIVQTLVN SVNSSIPKAC CVPTELSAIS MLYLDEYDKV VLKNYQEMVV EGCGCR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Morphogenetic protein-4, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
