Usage
CAV1 Protein - We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1 mg/mL. We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Preparation and Storage
Storage:
Store it under sterile conditions at -20°C upon receiving. Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage.
**Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.**

Stability:
The recombinant protein is stable for up to 12 months from date of receipt at -80°C.

Related Product Information for CAV1 recombinant protein
The scaffolding protein encoded by this gene is the main component of the caveolae plasma membranes found in most cell types. The protein links integrin subunits to the tyrosine kinase FYN, an initiating step in coupling integrins to the Ras-ERK pathway and promoting cell cycle progression. The gene is a tumor suppressor gene candidate and a negative regulator of the Ras-p42/44 MAP kinase cascade. CAV1 and CAV2 are located next to each other on chromosome 7 and express colocalizing proteins that form a stable hetero-oligomeric complex. By using alternative initiation codons in the same reading frame, two isoforms (alpha and beta) are encoded by a single transcript from this gene.

Product Notes

The CAV1 cav1 (Catalog #AAA55980) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E.coli 11-179 AA (Q03135). and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 11-179. The Recombinant Human Caveolin-1 (CAV1) Protein reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: GHLYTVPIRE QGNIYKPNNK AMADELSEKQ VYDAHTKEID LVNRDPKHLN DDVVKIDFED VIAEPEGTHS FDGIWKASFT TFTVTKYWFY RLLSALFGIP MALIWGIYFA ILSFLHIWAV VPCIKSFLIE IQCISRVYSI YVHTVCDPLF EAVGKIFSNV RINLQKEI. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Caveolin-1 (CAV1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
