FGF1 active protein
Recombinant Mouse FGF1
Gene Names
Fgf1; Fam; Fgfa; Dffrx; Fgf-1
Purity
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Synonyms
FGF1; N/A; Recombinant Mouse FGF1; aFGF; Fibroblast growth factor 1; FGF-1; Heparin-binding growth factor 1; HBGF-1; Recombinant Mouse Acidic Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF1); FGF1 active protein
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Form/Format
Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered PBS solution.
Sequence Length
155
Bioactivity
The ED(50) as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors is <= 10 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of >= 1.0 x 10^5 units/mg.
Endotoxin Level
<1.0 EU/ug of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at-70 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2-8 degree C for one month, or at-20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for FGF1 active protein
aFGF and bFGF display 55% homology which is limited, however, to a few functional domains. The structure of aFGF, revealed by X-ray crystallography, shows a similar folding structure as IL-1. Because aFGF binds to the same receptor as bFGF, aFGF displays more or less the same spectrum of activities. It is, however, generally less active than bFGF in similar assays. FGF receptors are encoded by a gene family consisting of at least four receptor tyrosine kinases that transduce signals important in a variety of developmental and physiological processes related to cell growth and differentiation.

Product Notes
The FGF1 fgf1 (Catalog #AAA214309) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FGF1, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
