Biological Significance
Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver.
Preparation and Storage
Upon receipt, store at -20°C for best results. Stable at room temperature for 3 weeks.
Should be stored at -20°C after reconstitution. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein such as 0.1% HSA or BSA. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
