Preparation and Storage
Storage:
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 2-8 degree C for one month.
Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.

Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Bioactivity

(Elastin Microfibril Interface Located Protein 1 (EMILIN1) is a glycoprotein that plays an important role in the extracellular matrix (ECM). It is widely present in the extracellular matrix of arteries, lymphatic vessels and other tissues. EMILIN1 plays an important role in several biological processes, such as participating in the biosynthesis of elastic fibers (elastogenesis), maintaining vascular cell morphology and regulating cell signaling. Besides, Integrin Beta 1 (ITGb1) has been identified as an interactor of EMILIN1, thus a functional binding ELISA assay was conducted to detect the interaction of recombinant human EMILIN1 and recombinant human ITGb1. Briefly, EMILIN1 was diluted serially in PBS with 0.01% BSA (pH 7.4). Duplicate samples of 100 ul were then transferred to ITGb1-coated microtiter wells and incubated for 1h at 37 degree C. Wells were washed with PBST and incubated for 1h with anti-EMILIN1 pAb, then aspirated and washed 3 times. After incubation with HRP labelled secondary antibody for 1h at 37 degree C, wells were aspirated and washed 5 times. With the addition of substrate solution, wells were incubated 15-25 minutes at 37 degree C. Finally, add 50 uL stop solution to the wells and read at 450/630 nm immediately. The binding activity of recombinant human EMILIN1 and recombinant human ITGb1 was shown in Figure 1, the EC50 for this effect is 6.64 ug/mL.)

Product Notes

The EMILIN1 emilin1 (Catalog #AAA161733) is an Active Protein produced from E. coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Active Elastin Microfibril Interface Located Protein 1 (EMILIN1) reacts with Homo sapiens (Human) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Elastin Microfibril Interface Located Protein 1 (EMILIN1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Activity Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EMILIN1 emilin1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Elastin Microfibril Interface Located Protein 1 (EMILIN1), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
