Activity

(IL1alpha (Interleukin-1 alpha) is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This cytokine is produced by monocytes and macrophages as a proprotein, which is proteolytically processed and released in response to cell injury, and thus induces cell apoptosis. It is reported that exposure of MCF-7 cells to certain concentration of IL1alpha results in inhibition of cell growth. Thus, an cell proliferation assay of MCF-7 was conducted with the addition of IL1alpha. MCF-7 cells were seeded overnight at a density of 5,000 cells/well, and then treated with or without various concentrations of IL1alpha for 72h, then cells were observed by inverted microscope and cell viability was measured by Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8). Briefly, 10uL of CCK-8 solution was added to each well of the plate, then measure the absorbance at 450nm using a microplate reader after incubating the plate for 1-4 hours in at 37 degree C.Inhibition of MCF-7 cell proliferation after incubation with IL1alpha for 72h observed by inverted microscope was shown in Figure 1.)

Product Notes

The IL1a il1a (Catalog #AAA148220) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Active Interleukin 1 Alpha (IL1a) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Interleukin 1 Alpha (IL1a) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Activity Assay, Cell Culture. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL1a il1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin 1 Alpha (IL1a), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
