Reconstitution
Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.
Biological Activity
The ED50 was determined by the dose-dependant proliferation of the human A375 melanoma cell line. The expected ED50 for this effect is 4-6 ug/ml.
Length (aa)
108
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable at 4°C. Reconstituted working aliquots are stable at 2°C to 8°C.
Related Product Information for MIA active protein
MIA is the first discovered member of a family of secreted cytokines termed the MIA/OTOR family. The four known members of this family; MIA, MIA2, OTOR and TANGO each contain a Src homology-3 (SH3)-like domain. MIA is an autocrine growth regulatory protein secreted from chondrocytes and malignant melanoma cells that promotes melanoma metastasis by binding competitively to fibronectin and laminin in a manner that results in melanoma cell detachment from the extracellular matrix in vivo. Elevated levels of MIA may represent a clinically useful marker for identification of melanoma metastasis as well as a potential marker for rheumatoid arthritis. Recombinant human MIA is a 12.2 kDa globular protein containing 108 amino acid residues including two intramolecular disulfide bonds..

Product Notes
The MIA mia (Catalog #AAA79186) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Human MIA (Melanoma inhibitory activity) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGPMPKLADR KLCADQECSH PISMAVALQD YMAPDCRFLT IHRGQV VYVF SKLKGRGRLF WGGSVQGDYY GDLAARLGYF PSSIVREDQT L KPGKVDVKT DKWDFYCQ. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MIA (Melanoma inhibitory activity), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
