Principle of the Assay: The Human CD326 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human CD326 in Cell Culture Supernates, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Human CD326 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and CD326 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human CD326 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD326 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
Background: Epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein mediating Ca2+-independent homotypic cell-cell adhesion in epithelia. Also it is involved in cell signaling, migration, proliferation, and differentiation. Additionally, EpCAM has oncogenic potential via its capacity to upregulate c-myc, e-fabp, and cyclins A & E. Since it is expressed exclusively in epithelia and epithelial-derived neoplasms, EpCAM can be used as marker for various cancers. It appears to play a role in tumorigenesis and metastasis of carcinomas, so it can also act as a potential prognostic marker and as a potential target for immunotherapeutic strategies.

Product Notes
The Human EPCAM epcam (Catalog #AAA263039) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA263039 ELISA Kit recognizes Human EPCAM. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD326, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
