Related Product Information for alpha-L-Fucosidase assay kit
Background: alpha-L-Fucosidase (AFU) is an enzyme coded by the FUCA1 gene in humans and catalyzes the breakdown of L-Fucose. A genetic deficiency in this enzyme results in a neurovisceral storage disease, fucosidosis, which is characterized by the accumulation of fucose. Low serum activity of fucosidase has also been linked to ovarian caricinoma. Elevated fucosidase serum activity has been observed in patients with diabetes, hyperthyroidism, cirrhosis, and hepatitis. Increased activity has been associated with lung, breast, stomach, ovary, uterus, and liver carcinomas. alpha-L-Fucosidase Microplate Assay Kit is based on the cleavage of 4-nitrophenol from the synthetic substrate. Nitrophenol becomes intensely colored after addition of the stop reagent. The increase in absorbance at 405 nm after addition of the stop reagent is directly proportional to the enzyme activity.

Product Notes
The General alpha-L-Fucosidase (Catalog #AAA264741) is an Assay Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA264741 Assay Kit recognizes General alpha-L-Fucosidase. AAA Biotech's alpha-L-Fucosidase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FA (Functional Assay). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the alpha-L-Fucosidase for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "alpha-L-Fucosidase, Assay Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
