Related Product Information for Hb protein
We produces and supplies human RBC Hemoglobin (Hb) for use as an indicator to measure the severity of chronic bleeding in anemia or polycythemia conditions in medical research and clinical manufacturing.
Custom preparations, technical support, bulk quantities and aliquoting available.
Why is testing hemoglobin so important? Higher than normal levels may result in dehydration, excess production of red blood cells in the bone marrow, severe lung disease or other severe conditions. Lower than normal levels may lead to anemia that can result in iron deficiency, B12 and folate deficiency, inherited hemoglobin defect, cirrhosis of the lever, excessive destruction of red bloods cells.
Hemoglobin the main component of red blood cells, is a protein that carries oxygen away from the lungs and carbon dioxide back to the lungs. A molecule consists of 2 pairs of peptide (alpha and beta globins) chains and four heme groups, each with one atom of iron. At a normal oxygen tension of 100 mmHg in the blood vessels of the lungs, 95-98% of hemoglobin is combined with oxygen. In the tissues further from the lungs, where the oxygen tension is much lower, the oxygen readily separates from hemoglobin.

Product Notes
The Hb (Catalog #AAA11478) is a Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Hemoglobin, Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
