Biological Significance
Herpes simplex viruses -- more commonly known as herpes -- are categorized into two types: herpes type 1 (HSV-1, or oral herpes) and herpes type 2 (HSV-2, or genital herpes). Most commonly, herpes type 1 causes sores around the mouth and lips (sometimes called fever blisters or cold sores). HSV-1 can cause genital herpes, but most cases of genital herpes are caused by herpes type 2.

Product Notes
The HSV1 gG (Catalog #AAA224736) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Yeast and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's HSV1 gG can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HSV1 gG for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HSV1 gG, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
