Specificity
This antibody is specific for amino acids 410-432 (TIVEEVQDGKVISSREQVHQTTR) of human cytokeratin 17. Cytokeratins are intermediate filaments found in the intracytoplasmic cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue. Cytokeratin 17 regulates the activity of kinases such as PKC and SRC via binding to integrin beta-1 (ITB1) and the receptor of activated protein C kinase 1 (RACK1).

A431 (A) (0.001ug/ml) and HeLa (B) (0.0001ug/ml) cells lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer) were resolved on an SDS-PAGE gel, and blots were probed with the chimeric rabbit version of 4D2 at the mentioned respective concentrations before detection using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. A primary incubation of 1 hour was used, and protein was detected by chemiluminescence.)
