Background: Aspartate/asparagine beta?hydroxylase (AspH) is a type II transmembrane protein that catalyzes the post?translational hydroxylation of definite aspartyl and asparaginyl residues in epidermal growth factor?like domains of substrates. In the last few decades, accumulating evidence has indicated that AspH expression is upregulated in numerous types of human malignant cancer and is associated with poor survival and prognosis. The AspH protein aggregates on the surface of tumor cells, which contributes to inducing tumor cell migration, infiltration and metastasis. However, small?molecule inhibitors targeting hydroxylase activity can markedly block these processes, both in vitro and in vivo.
Principle of the Assay: Human Aspartyl/asparaginyl beta-hydroxylase (ASPH) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate ASPH in samples. An antibody specific for ASPH has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any ASPH present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human ASPH detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of ASPH bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Product Notes
The Human ASPH asph (Catalog #AAA331980) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA331980 ELISA Kit recognizes Human ASPH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aspartyl/asparaginyl beta-Hydroxylase (ASPH), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
