Background: Copeptin is a reasonable surrogate marker for AVP and measurement of copeptin is asimple method to evaluate AVP activation in patients with HF. Copeptin has been found tobe an excellent marker of HF development in patients with ACS, in the risk stratification of patients with HF symptoms presenting acutely to an ED as well as an accurate marker of risk in both hospitalized and ambulatory patients with chronic HF.
Principle of the Assay: Human Copeptin ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate Copeptin insamples. An antibody specific for Copeptin has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any Copeptin present is bound bythe immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human Copeptin detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to removeany unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Copeptin bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Product Notes
The Human Copeptin (Catalog #AAA332015) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA332015 ELISA Kit recognizes Human Copeptin. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Copeptin, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
