Principle of the Assay: The Human LGALS3BP ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human LGALS3BP in Cell Culture Supernates, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Human LGALS3BP coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and LGALS3BP present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human LGALS3BP antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of LGALS3BP bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
Background: Galectin-3-binding protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LGALS3BP gene. The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Using fluorescence in-situ hybridization, the full length 90K cDNA has been localized to chromosome 17q25. The native protein binds specifically to a human macrophage-associated lectin known as Mac-2 and also binds to galectin 1.

Product Notes
The Human LGALS3BP lgals3bp (Catalog #AAA263061) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA263061 ELISA Kit recognizes Human LGALS3BP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LGALS3BP, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
