Background: PCOLCE2 lies 5.2 kb and 102.5 kb centromeric to the transient receptor potential channel-1 (TRPC1) and plastin-1 (PLS1), respectively. The deduced 415-amino acid protein contains an N-terminal signal sequence, 2 CUB domains, and an NTR domain. It also contains a putative myristoylation site, several potential phosphorylation sites, a putative glycosylation site, and an RGD site. PCOLCE2 shares about 43% sequence identity with the PCOLCE protein.

Principle of the Assay: Human Procollagen C-endopeptidase enhancer 2 (PCOLCE2) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PCOLCE2 in samples. An antibody specific for PCOLCE2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any PCOLCE2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Human PCOLCE2 detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PCOLCE2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
