Principle of the Assay: TSH is one of the important indicators for identifying thyroid function and studying the hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis, especially for congenital hypothyroidism. In the assessment of thyroid function, primary and secondary (pituitary and hypothalamic) hypothyroidism can be differentiated. It can be used as an observation index for the efficacy of hypothyroidism. In addition, the reserve function of pituitary TSH can be observed, and the lesions of the hypothalamus and pituitary can be further distinguished.Human TSH ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate Human TSH in samples. An antibody specific for Human TSH has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with HRP conjugated antibody specific for Human TSH and any Human TSH present is bound by the immobilized antibody. Following a wash to remove any unbound enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human TSH in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
