Principle of the Assay||The Human IL-1R2 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human IL-1R2 in Cell Culture Supernatants, Serum. This assay employs an antibody specific for Human IL-1R2 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-1R2 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human IL-1R2 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1R2 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.
Background/Introduction: Interleukin 1 receptor, type II (IL1R2) also known as CD121b (Cluster of Differentiation 121b) is an interleukin receptor. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family. It is mapped to 2q11.2. IL1R2 binds interleukin alpha (IL1A), interleukin beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor, type I (IL1R1/IL1RA), and acts as a decoy receptor that inhibits the activity of its ligands. IL1R2 also modulates cellular response through non-signaling association with IL1RAP after binding to IL1B. The secreted IL1R2 recruits secreted IL1RAP with high affinity, and this complex formation may be the dominant mechanism for neutralization of IL1B by secreted/soluble receptors.

Product Notes
The Human IL1R2 il1r2 (Catalog #AAA105544) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA105544 ELISA Kit recognizes Human IL1R2. AAA Biotech's IL-1R2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (Sandwich ELISA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL1R2 il1r2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-1R2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
