Biological Activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized human GCGR at 2 ug/mL can bind Anti-GCGR recombinant antibody, the EC50 is 3.747-6.666 ng/mL.
Preparation and Storage
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20 degree C/-80 degree C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20 degree C/-80 degree C.
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4 degree C for up to one week.
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20 degree C/-80 degree C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Related Product Information for GCGR active protein
G-protein coupled receptor for glucagon that plays a central role in the regulation of blood glucose levels and glucose homeostasis. Regulates the rate of hepatic glucose production by promoting glycogen hydrolysis and gluconeogenesis. Plays an important role in mediating the responses to fasting. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Promotes activation of adenylate cyclase. Besides, plays a role in signaling via a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.

Product Notes

The GCGR gcgr (Catalog #AAA279211) is an Active Protein produced from Mammalian cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 26-136aa; Partial. The amino acid sequence is listed below: AQVMDFLFEK WKLYGDQCHH NLSLLPPPTE LVCNRTFDKY SCWPDTPANT TANISCPWYL PWHHKVQHRF VFKRCGPDGQ WVRGPRGQPW RDASQCQMDG EEIEVQKEVA K$. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glucagon receptor (GCGR), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
