Mouse anti Pig CD6, clone a38b2, recognizes the porcine homologue of human CD6. Porcine CD6 is expressed exclusively on T-lymphocytes, clone a38b2 recognizes an epitope on T-lymphocytes which is not present on either monocytes or B-cells (Pauly et al. 1996). Clone a38b2 immunoprecipitates a monomeric protein of ~150 kDa from an activated T-cell lysate. Clone a38b2 binds to different epitope from clone MIL8 (MCA1221GA) on porcine CD6 due to their total lack of reciprocal binding to CD6 expressing cells (Pescovitz et al. 1998).
