Related Product Information for anti-EP-CAM antibody
Epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein mediating Ca2+-independent homotypic cell-cell adhesion in epithelia. EpCAM is also involved in cell signaling, migration, proliferation, and differentiation. Additionally, EpCAM has oncogenic potential via its capacity to upregulate c-myc, e-fabp, and cyclins A & E. Since EpCAM is expressed exclusively in epithelia and epithelial-derived neoplasms, EpCAM can be used as identification marker for various cancers. It appears to play a role in tumorigenesis and metastasis of carcinomas, so it can also act as a potential prognostic marker and as a potential target for immunotherapeutic strategies. Mutations in EpCAM have also been associated with congenital tufting enteropathy which causes intractable diarrhea in newborn children. Specificity/Source: This antibody is produced by immunizing mice with recombinant protein corresponding to a region of EpCAM.

Product Notes

The EP-CAM epcam (Catalog #AAA29891) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The EP-CAM Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's EP-CAM can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:1000-1:2000 IHC: 1:200-1:500 ICC: 1:100-1:200 FC/FACS: 1:100-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EP-CAM epcam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EP-CAM, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
