Related Product Information for anti-EGFR antibody
Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR; ErbB-1) is a 170-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the HER1 proto-oncogene. It belongs to the EGFR family of receptors, a subfamily of four closely related receptor tyrosine kinases: EGFR (ErbB-1), HER2/c-neu (ErbB-2), Her3 (ErbB-3) and Her4 (ErbB-4). ErbB-1 is expressed on the cell surface and is activated by binding of its specific ligands, including epidermal growth factor and transforming growth factor ? (TGF?). Growth factor binding to the extracellular domain of ErbB-1 induces formation of homoand heterodimers with another member of the ErbB receptor family. The EGFR signaling pathway is one of the most important pathways that regulate growth, survival, proliferation and differentiation in mammalian cells, while over-expression of ErbB-1 have been associated with a number of cancers, including lung cancer and glioblastoma (2,3).

Product Notes

The EGFR egfr (Catalog #AAA71483) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The anti-human Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase ErbB-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ErbB1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (Competitive ELISA), FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EGFR egfr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ErbB1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
