BOSC23 cells were transiently transfected with an expression vector encoding either ErbB-3 (red curve) or an irrelevant protein (control transfectant: black curve). Binding of DY-7G2 was detected with a PE-conjugated secondary antibody. A positive signal was obtained only with ErbB-3 transfected cells.)

Related Product Information for anti-ERBB3 antibody
Background: ErbB-3 belongs to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family of receptor tyrosine kinases. ErbB receptors (EGFR (ErbB1), ErbB2, ErbB3, and ErbB4) are important regulators of normal growth and differentiation, and they are involved in the pathogenesis of cancer. The 148- kDa trans-membrane polypeptide ErbB-3 has a neuregulin binding domain but not an active kinase domain. Heterodimerisation with EGF receptor family members which possess kinase activity leads to the activation of pathways which indicate cell proliferation or differentiation (1). Over-expression of ErbB-3 has been reported in numerous cancers, including prostate, bladder and breast tumours (2).

Product Notes

The ERBB3 erbb3 (Catalog #AAA71484) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The anti-human Receptor tyrosine-protein kinase ErbB-3 monoclonal antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ErbB3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC (Immunohistochemistry), FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ERBB3 erbb3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ErbB3, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
