Specificity
Human glycophorin A
Glycophorin A (GPA) is a 36 kDa sialoglycoprotein that is the most predominant sialoglycoprotein of the erythroid lineage. GPA is the major contributor to the net negative surface charge of the mature red blood cell (RBC) membrane thereby minimizing cell to cell interactions in circulation. The monoclonal antibody CMRF14 binds to glutaraldehyde fixed or neuraminidase treated erythrocytes but not to papain, trypsin or pronase treated erythrocytes.1, 2
Form/Format
Purified (UNLB) Antibody
Concentration
0.1mg/ml (varies by lot)
Applicable Applications for anti-GYPA antibody
FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry)
Characterization
To insure lot to lot consistency, each batch of product is tested by flow cytometry to conform with the characteristics of a standard reference reagent.
Warning
Reagents contain sodium azide which is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.
Preparation and Storage
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.1 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2-8 degree C.

Product Notes

The GYPA gypa (Catalog #AAA78626) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Human Glycophorin A-UNLB reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Glycophorin A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GYPA gypa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Glycophorin A, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
