Related Product Information for anti-TFRC antibody
Product Description: Human transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1), also designated CD71, is a homodimeric type II membrane glycoprotein of 90-95 kDa. This receptor binds two molecules of the serum iron-transport protein transferrin (Tf) and is internalised into endosomes that are acidified, resulting in the release of iron from Tf. TfR1 is not expressed on resting leukocytes but is upregulated on all proliferating cells upon activation, reflecting the iron dependence of proliferation. In tissues TfR1 is expressed on most dividing cells and on brain capillary endothelium. Expression of TfR1 is down regulated as a result of iron overload. TfR1 shares 45% identity with TfR2.

Product Notes

The TFRC (Catalog #AAA77762) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Transferrin receptor 1, Human, mAb 3B8 2A1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Transferrin receptor 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), IP (Immunoprecipitation), IA (Immunoassay), FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TFRC for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Transferrin receptor 1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
