Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antigen. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a biotin-conjugated CTX-I antibody. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between CTX-I (Standards or samples) and pre-coated CTX-I with the biotin-conjugated antibody. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of CTX-I in sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
