Background: Protein CYR61 (or cysteine-rich angiogenic inducer 61), a member of the CCN protein family, is transcriptionally activated within minutes of G protein-coupled receptor activation by growth factors and agonists [77]. Interaction of CYR61 with fibroblasts via integrin alpha6beta1 and cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycan is reported to recapitulate the mechanism of inflammaging.
Principle of the Assay: Mouse Protein CYR61 (CYR61) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate CYR61 in samples. An antibody specific for CYR61 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CYR61 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated Mouse CYR61 detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CYR61 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
