Related Product Information for PIP5K3 recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant human PIP5K3 (1400-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
Scientific Background: PIP5K3 (also known as phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate 5-kinase type III or PIPKIII) encodes an enzyme that phosphorylates the D-5 position in PtdIns and phospha-tidylinositol-3-phosphate (PtdIns3P) to make PtdIns5P and PtdIns (3,5)biphosphate. PIP5K3 belongs to a large family of lipid kinases that alter the phosphorylation status of intracellular phosphatidylinositol but also have protein kinase activity (1). PIP5K3 regulate cytoskeletal functions, membrane trafficking, and receptor signaling by recruiting protein complexes to cell- and endosomal-membranes. The inhibition of PIP5K3 renders the late endosome /lysosome compartment refractory to fusion with autop-hagosomes and multivesicular bodies (2).

Product Notes

The PIP5K3 pikfyve (Catalog #AAA73047) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells using baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 1400-end. AAA Biotech's PIP5K3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Kinase Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PIP5K3 pikfyve for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PIP5K3, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
