Description: Merozoite surface antigen is a protein located at the outside of merozoite, playing an important role in immune reaction. About 55% cases of malaria are infected by Plasmodium falciparum (Pf). Pf MSP is an restructured protein, expressed and purified from E. coli. MBS596166 is usually used with Plasmodium vivax (Pv) together for ELISA and lateral flow rapid test, Plasmodium falciparum and vivax infection takes about 95% of Plasmodium caused infection. The expressed MBS596166 contains 6 x His tag, migrates at 36 kDa. Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) MBS596166 is used to prepare lateral flow rapid test, on the rapid test, it can specifically be recognized by the antibody (IgG, IgA, IgM) infected by malaria species, Plasmodium falciparum, no cross reaction is observed with the antibody infected by the species Plasmodium vivax. In the development of the rapid test to detect malaria antibody, MBS596166 needs both to conjugate to coilloid gold and coated to the cellular membrane.
