Multidrug-resistance protein 8 (ABCC11/MRP8) is an ATP-binding cassette transporter and its mature protein contains two N-linked glycans at Asn838 and Asn844. ABCC11 is involved in regulating cellular sensitivity and resistance for many anti-cancer drugs. In breast cancer, ABCC11 may be involved in the efflux of conjugated estrogen metabolites. N-linked glycosylation is important for the protein stability of ABCC11 and physiological alteration in glucose may affect the ABCC11 protein level and ABCC11-related phenotypes in humans, such as axillary osmidrosis.
