Rabbit anti-Mouse, Rat BECLIN-1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-Becn1 antibody

RABBIT ANTI BECLIN-1 (N-TERMINAL)

Reactivity
Mouse, Rat
Applications
Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, Functional Assay
Synonyms
BECLIN-1, Antibody; RABBIT ANTI BECLIN-1 (N-TERMINAL); anti-Becn1 antibody
Ordering
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Mouse, Rat
Clonality
Polyclonal
Isotype
IgG
Specificity
This item recognises an epitope within the N-terminal region of Beclin-1, a 52kDa coiled-coil protein which shares structural homology with the yeast autophagy gene apg6/vps30.

The ability of cells to undergo bulk degradation of endogenous proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway, termed autophagy or Type II cell death, is important in the control of cell growth and development. Studies have identified Beclin-1 as a Bcl-2 interacting mammalian gene which not only mediates autophagy, but also functions as a tumour suppressor, being expressed at reduced levels in human breast carcinoma, and may also play a role in defense against viral infection. An increasing number of studies have revealed an interaction between proteins which induce autophagy and those involved in apoptosis and in some instances apoptosis may be dependant upon or delayed by autophagy.

Product Notes

The Becn1 becn1 (Catalog #AAA49911) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RABBIT ANTI BECLIN-1 (N-TERMINAL) reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BECLIN-1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Becn1 becn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BECLIN-1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
