Applicable Applications for anti-CACNA2D2 antibody
IHC (Immunohistochemistry), ELISA, WB (Western Blot)
Function
The alpha-2/delta subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels regulates calcium current density and activation/inactivation kinetics of the calcium channel. Acts as a regulatory subunit for P/Q- type calcium channel (CACNA1A), N-type (CACNA1B), L-type (CACNA1C OR CACNA1D) and possibly T-type (CACNA1G) (PubMed:15111129, PubMed:23339110). Overexpression induces apoptosis.
Cellular Location
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Note=Colocalizes with CACNA1A in lipid raft fractions.
Tissue Location
Predominantly present in cerebellar cortex. Present in various lung tumor cell lines, while it is absent in normal lung (at protein level). Highly expressed in heart, lung, testis, pancreas and skeletal muscle. Also expressed in kidney, liver, placenta and brain
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for anti-CACNA2D2 antibody
This gene encodes a member of the alpha-2/delta subunit family, a protein in the voltage-dependent calcium channel complex. Calcium channels mediate the influx of calcium ions into the cell upon membrane polarization and consist of a complex of alpha-1, alpha-2/delta, beta, and gamma subunits in a 1:1:1:1 ratio. Various versions of each of these subunits exist, either expressed from similar genes or the result of alternative splicing. Research on a highly similar protein in rabbit suggests the protein described in this record is cleaved into alpha-2 and delta subunits. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.

Product Notes

The CACNA2D2 cacna2d2 (Catalog #AAA290295) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 643-671. The CACNA2D2 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CACNA2D2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC (Immunohistochemistry), ELISA, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CACNA2D2 cacna2d2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CACNA2D2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
