Related Product Information for anti-CALCOCO2 antibody
Function: Xenophagy-specific receptor required for autophagy-mediated intracellular bacteria degradation. Acts as an effector protein of galectin-sensed membrane damage that restricts the proliferation of infecting pathogens such as Salmonella typhimurium upon entry into the cytosol by targeting LGALS8-associated bacteria for autophagy (PubMed:22246324). Initially orchestrates bacteria targeting to autophagosomes and subsequently ensures pathogen degradation by regulating pathogen-containing autophagosome maturation (PubMed:23022382, PubMed:25771791). Bacteria targeting to autophagosomes relies on its interaction with MAP1LC3A, MAP1LC3B and/or GABARAPL2, whereas regulation of pathogen-containing autophagosome maturation requires the interaction with MAP3LC3C (PubMed:23022382, PubMed:25771791). May play a role in ruffle formation and actin cytoskeleton organization and seems to negatively regulate constitutive secretion (PubMed:17635994).

Similarity: The MYO6-binding domain is required for autophagy-mediated degradation of infecting bacteria such as Salmonella typhimurium, but not for bacteria targeting to autophagosomes. The CLIR (LC3C-interacting region) motif is required for interaction with MAP1LC3C, but dispensable for CALCOCO2-mediated autophagosome maturation. The LIR-like motif is required for interaction with MAP1LC3A, MAP1LC3B and GABARAPL2, as well as for CALCOCO2-mediated autophagosome maturation. The LGALS8-binding domain is essential for the recruitment to cytosol-exposed infecting bacteria. Belongs to the CALCOCO family.

Product Notes

The CALCOCO2 calcoco2 (Catalog #AAA323184) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CALCOCO2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CALCOCO2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IF (Immunofluorescence), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CALCOCO2 calcoco2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CALCOCO2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
