Preparation and Storage
This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20 degree C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8 degree C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20 degree C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

Rabbit anti human CENP-A (pSer18) antibody recognizes centromere protein A when phosphorylated at serine 18.
CENP-A is a histone H3 variant which replaces one or both canonical H3 histones in a subset of nucleosomes within centromeric chromatin and epigenetically determines the position of the centromere on each chromosome, and where kinetochore assembly and sister chromatid cohesion occurs during mitosis (Fachinetti et al. 2013) (Blower et al. 2002). CENP-A has been shown to interact directly with the inner kinetochore through CENP-C and CENP-N. This interaction allows microtubules to accurately segregate chromosomes during mitosis (Kixomoeller et al. 2020) (Yan et al. 2019).
