Related Product Information for anti-CMAS antibody
As a component of cell surface glycoconjugates, Neu5Ac is pivotal to numerous cellular recognition and communication processes including host-parasite interactions. A prerequisite for the synthesis of sialylated glycoconjugates is the activation of Neu5Ac to cytidine-monophosphate N-acetylneuraminic acid (CMP-Neu5Ac). Cytidine 5-prime-monophosphate N-acetylneuraminic acid (CMP-Neu5Ac) provides the substrate required for the addition of sialic acid. CMP-sialic acid synthetase (CMAS) is one of four enzymes involved in NeuNAc metabolism, as it catalyzes the formation of CMP-NeuNAc. Cytidine monophosphate-sialic acid synthetase (CSS) catalyzes the metabolic activation of sialic acids. In vertebrates, the enzyme is chimeric, with the N-terminal domain harboring the synthetase activity.

Product Notes

The CMAS (Catalog #AAA256143) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CMAS Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CMAS can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IP (Immunoprecipitation), WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CMAS for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CMAS, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
