The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.Lane 1: human HepG2 whole cell lysates,Lane 2: human A549 whole cell lysates,Lane 3: human Jurkat whole cell lysates,Lane 4: human Hela whole cell lysates. After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane at 150 mA for 50-90 minutes. Blocked the membrane with 5% non-fat milk/TBS for 1.5 hour at RT. The membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-FADS1 antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (#AAA126233) at 0.25 ug/mL overnight at 4 degree C, then washed with TBS-0.1%Tween 3 times with 5 minutes each and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:5000 for 1.5 hour at RT. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for FADS1 at approximately 52 kDa. The expected band size for FADS1 is at 52 kDa.)

Related Product Information for anti-FADS1 antibody
Fatty acid desaturase 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the FADS1 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fatty acid desaturase (FADS) gene family. Desaturase enzymes regulate unsaturation of fatty acids through the introduction of double bonds between defined carbons of the fatty acyl chain. FADS family members are considered fusion products composed of an N-terminal cytochrome b5-like domain and a C-terminal multiple membrane-spanning desaturase portion, both of which are characterized by conserved histidine motifs. This gene is clustered with family members FADS1 and FADS2 at 11q12-q13.1; this cluster is thought to have arisen evolutionarily from gene duplication based on its similar exon/intron organization.

Product Notes

The FADS1 fads1 (Catalog #AAA126233) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-FADS1 Antibody Picoband reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FADS1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FADS1 fads1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FADS1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
