This is a rabbit polyclonal antibody against GP1BA. It was validated on Western Blot using a cell lysate as a positive control.

Target Description: Glycoprotein Ib (GP Ib) is a platelet surface membrane glycoprotein composed of a heterodimer, an alpha chain and a beta chain, that are linked by disulfide bonds. The Gp Ib functions as a receptor for von Willebrand factor (VWF). The complete receptor complex includes noncovalent association of the alpha and beta subunits with platelet glycoprotein IX and platelet glycoprotein V. The binding of the GP Ib-IX-V complex to VWF facilitates initial platelet adhesion to vascular subendothelium after vascular injury, and also initiates signaling events within the platelet that lead to enhanced platelet activation, thrombosis, and hemostasis. This gene encodes the alpha subunit. Several polymorphisms and mutations have been described in this gene, some of which are the cause of Bernard-Soulier syndromes and platelet-type von Willebrand disease. Sequence Note: This RefSeq record was created from transcript and genomic sequence data because no single transcript was available for the full length of the gene. The extent of this transcript is supported by transcript alignments. Publication Note: This RefSeq record includes a subset of the publications that are available for this gene. Please see the Entrez Gene record to access additional publications.

Product Notes

The GP1BA gp1ba (Catalog #AAA200150) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The GP1BA antibody - C-terminal region reacts with Dog, Horse, Human, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GP1BA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the GP1BA gp1ba for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: RGSLPTFRSS LFLWVRPNGR VGPLVAGRRP SALSQGRGQD LLSTVSIRYS. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GP1BA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
