Related Product Information for anti-HAP1 antibody
Huntington's disease (HD), a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by loss of striatal neurons, is caused by an expansion of a polyglutamine tract in the HD protein huntingtin. HAP1 was initially identified through a two-hybrid library screening; the binding of HAP1 to huntingtin correlated with the expansion of the polyglutamine tract. HAP1 also interacts with two cytoskeletal proteins (dynactin and pericentriolar autoantigen protein 1), suggesting that HAP1 may play a role in vesicular trafficking or organelle transport. HAP1 is also involved with the huntingtin-enhanced BDNF transport along the cellular microtubles. Attenuation of this process led to the loss of neurotrophic support and neuronal toxicity, which suggests that loss of this function might contribute to pathogenesis. Several alternatively spliced isoforms have been described for HAP1.

Product Notes
The HAP1 hap1 (Catalog #AAA303709) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The HAP1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's HAP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IHC (Immunohistochemistry), WB (Western Blot), ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HAP1 hap1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HAP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
