Short Description: Our Histone H4R3me2s (symmetric) antibody (pAb) was raised in a Rabbit host. It has been validated for use in Chromatin Immunoprecipitation, ChIP-Seq, Dot blot and Western blot; it has been shown to react with Human samples, but it is predicted that it will react with a wide range of sample types.

Background: Histone H4 is one of the core components of the nucleosome, the basic building block of chromatin. Histones are subject to a variety of chemical modifications, including post-translational modifications of the histone proteins and the methylation of cytosine residues in the DNA. Reported histone modifications include acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitylation, glycosylation, ADP-ribosylation, carbonylation and SUMOylation; these modifications play a major role in regulating gene expression. The methylation of histones can occur on two different residues: arginine or lysine. Symmetric dimethylation of histone H4 at arginine 3 (Arg3), catalyzed by the PRMT methyltransferases, is associated with transcriptional repression. Histone H4 dimethyl Arg3 symmetric methylation (H4R2me2s) is catalyzed by PRMT5 and PRMT7.

Product Notes

The H4R3me2s hist1h4a (Catalog #AAA59990) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Histone H4R3me2s (symmetric) antibody (pAb) reacts with Human, Wide Range Predicted and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Histone H4R3me2s can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), DB (Dot Blot), ChIP (Chromatin immunoprecipitation), ChIP (Chromatin immunoprecipitation). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the H4R3me2s hist1h4a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Histone H4R3me2s, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
