Reconstitution
Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 ug/ml.
Immunogen
E Coli-derived human Kinectin 1/KTN1 recombinant protein (Position: K283-K827).
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4 degree C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20 degree C for six months. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Visualize using a fluorescence microscope and filter sets appropriate for the label used.)

WB (Western Blot)

The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.Lane 1: monkey COS-7 whole cell lysates,Lane 2: human Hela whole cell lysates,Lane 3: rat ovary tissue lysates,Lane 4: mouse testis tissue lysates.After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane at 150 mA for 50-90 minutes. Blocked the membrane with 5% non-fat milk/TBS for 1.5 hour at RT. The membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-Kinectin 1/KTN1 antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (#AAA19534) at 0.5 ug/mL overnight at 4 degree C, then washed with TBS-0.1%Tween 3 times with 5 minutes each and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:5000 for 1.5 hour at RT. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for Kinectin 1/KTN1 at approximately 160 kDa. The expected band size for Kinectin 1/KTN1 is at 160 kDa.)

Kinectin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the KTN1 gene. This gene encodes an integral membrane protein that is a member of the kinectin protein family. The encoded protein is primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. This protein binds kinesin and may be involved in intracellular organelle motility. This protein also binds translation elongation factor-delta and may be involved in the assembly of the elongation factor-1 complex. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene.
