Biological Significance
Major capsid protein L1 forms an icosahedral capsid with a T=7 symmetry and a 50 nm diameter. The capsid is composed of 72 pentamers linked to each other by disulfide bonds and associated with L2 proteins. Binds to heparan sulfate proteoglycans on the basement membrane to provide initial virion attachment to target cells.

Recombinant HPV18 Major Capsid protein L1 (1-568aa)
Cross-Reactivity
Reacts with Human papillomavirus type 18
Preparation and Storage
Upon receipt, aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeat freeze-thaws.

Product Notes
The Major capsid L1 (Catalog #AAA108391) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Major capsid L1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Major capsid L1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Major capsid L1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
