WB (Western Blot)
(Western Blot of 10 ug of rat neural stem cell lysate (lane 1) and normal human brain lysate (lane 2) showing specific immunolabeling of Musashi-1.)
ICC (Immunocytochemistry)
(Immunocytochemistry of human neural rosettes showing specific staining of Musashi-1 in green. Nuclei are counterstained blue (DAPI). Cells were fixed with 4 percent PFA. No antigen retrieval was done.)
IHC (Immunohistochemistry)
(Immunohistochemistry of the ventricular zone of E14.5 mouse medulla showing specific staining of Musashi-1. Image taken at 200x magnification. The sections were 4% PFA fixed, paraffin-embedded and cut at 5 microns.)
Musashi 1, a neural RNA-binding protein, plays an important role in regulating cell differentiation in precursor cells. Musashi 1 (Msi-1) has been shown to increase the accumulation of tau isoforms in intracellular inclusions in dementia and Parkinson's. The presence of Msi-1 in a significant percentage of neurons containing cytoplasmic inclusions in 2 other neurodegenerative diseases Alzheimer's disease and Pick disease suggests that it may play a role in the pathogenesis of these neurodegenerative disorders. Musashi 1 has also been detected in human tumor tissues such as gliomas and melanomas, suggesting its involvement in cancer development. Msi-1 also appears to play be an vital role in the development of several types of carcinoma such as human hepatoma, and may be a useful molecular marker for tumor detection.

Product Notes
The MSI1 msi1 (Catalog #AAA72775) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Musashi 1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Musashi 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MSI1 msi1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Musashi 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
