Biological Significance
Osteoprotegerin is a decoy receptor for the receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B ligand (RANKL). By binding RANKL, OPG inhibits nuclear kappa B (NF-?B) which is a central and rapid acting transcription factor for immune related genes, and a key regulator of inflammation, innate immunity, cell survival and differentiation.
Immunogen
OPG antibody was raised in rabbit using highly pure recombinant human OPG (human Osteoprotegerin) as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C until reconstitution. Following reconstitution product may be stored at 4 degree C in the short term. For long term storage aliquot and freeze at -20 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
